Dr Connolly, I Presume?

Sale price£5,250.00 GBP

"Dr Connolly, I Presume?" is a landmark limited edition 59/100 print by Jack Vettriano, one of three commissioned portraits celebrating Billy Connolly's legacy as Scotland's beloved comedian.

Inspired by Connolly's 1994 World Tour of Scotland television series, Vettriano's composition depicts the iconic figure standing resolute on a storm-lashed coastline near John O'Groats—a setting that crystallizes Connolly's deep connection to Scotland. The original paintings were exhibited at Glasgow's People's Palace alongside works by John Byrne and Rachel Maclean, with monumental 50ft mural reproductions displayed across the city.

Only 100 limited edition prints were produced in 2017. Each is signed and numbered by Vettriano and issued with a Certificate of Authenticity. The work sold out within hours of release and rarely appears on the secondary market today, making it a coveted acquisition for serious collectors.

This limited edition is supplied framed and with Certificate of Authenticity.

Sourced directly from a respected private collector, this example represents an exceptional provenance opportunity—a work entrusted to Molasses House for placement with a discerning custodian.
