Frame the artwork, not your furnishings

Choose a frame that responds to the artwork itself, not the current colour of your walls. If the art moves rooms, or homes, it should still feel right.

Archival materials aren't optional

Acid‑free, museum‑standard materials prevent yellowing, fading and long‑term damage. If it’s worth framing, it’s worth framing properly.

Glass and artwork should never meet

Artwork needs space. Mounts, spacers or box frames keep the surface clear of glazing and protect against moisture, mould and sticking.

Light is beautiful.... and damaging

Sunlight and strong artificial light cause irreversible fading. UV‑filtering glass or acrylic dramatically slows this down and protects the work for the long term.

Let the artwork breathe

A wider mount creates visual calm and confidence. It draws the eye in and gives even small works a gallery‑level presence.

Canvases play by different rules

Paintings on canvas don’t need paper mounts. Float frames and liners respect the depth of the work and create a clean, contemporary finish.

Glass or Acrylic? There’s no ‘best’, only ‘right’

Glass is crisp and scratch‑resistant.
Acrylic is lightweight and safer for large works or busy homes. Both can offer excellent UV protection when specified correctly.

Everything should be reversible

Professional framing holds artwork securely, without permanently fixing it in place. Future conservation, or reframing should never be a problem.
