Artist
Lou was born and grew up in Northamptonshire. While studying fine art at Northampton school of Art he realized that his main interest was in photography. After leaving art school with a degree in photography, he assisted the award winning advertising photographer, Richard Cooke on various major advertising campaigns, from Marlborough cigarettes to Lloyds Black Horse where was able to master his technique.
In 1985, Lou decided to embark on a long-term project, photographing British Actor portraits. with nine pieces acquired for the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London.
As well as his personal work, Lou has photographed for numerous clients, such as the Aston Martin, Barclays, and several high-end book and magazine publications.
Lou’s love of portrait photography is still his main core of work. More recently, Lou has been working on a new personal project of iconic objects.
